Sheriff Arpaio to Join Arizonans Honoring Police Officers Thursday

Americans continue to rise up to support their law enforcement officers in rallies, postings, and nonprofit support groups in response to many anti-police rallies and media coverage over the officer-involved shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Thursday, January 29, Arizonans will gather in a show of support alongside sheriffs and other law enforcement officials at a community-led event billed as Operation Silver Star.

An announcement for the event reads:

Communities across America, now more than ever, need to give real support to the thin blue line that allows us all to sleep well. Our police are protecting us 365 days a year. They are prepared to help us in dealing with problems from the ordinary to some of the most difficult situations imaginable. Now, it’s our turn to help.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles, and Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu are scheduled to discuss the problem at hand and offer their suggestions for potential solutions. Recently, the event confirmed well-known Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has accepted an invitation to attend.

An Operation Silver Star event announcement reads, “Our police officers across America heard the threats and incessant accusations, as did their spouses and children. The effect was that professional and family morale plummeted.

Breitbart interviewed the co-founder of another law enforcement support effort known as Badge of Hope Ministries. Police wife Kristi Neace conveyed to Breitbart the organization’s mission to support police officers and their families. Neace and her police officer husband run the organization near St. Louis, Missouri, of which Ferguson is a suburb, having faced decades of the challenges officers and their families experience in the line of duty. They have served as a support to many officers in the wake of the Ferguson riots and anti-police antagonism.

Thursday’s event will occur from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the DesertView Performing Arts Center in Tucson, Arizona. An event representative informed Breitbart News that all 15 Arizona sheriffs, Arizona chiefs of police, Department of Public Safety and southern region Border Patrol officials have been invited to attend. According to representative Ron Thompson, some Arizona sheriffs and chiefs of police have already confirmed.
