Ted Cruz Praises Michelle Obama For Not Wearing Headscarf

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is praising First Lady Michelle Obama for not adhering to Saudi Arabia’s dress code for women.

“Kudos to @FLOTUS for standing up for women & refusing to wear Sharia-mandated head-scarf in Saudi Arabia. Nicely done,” the conservative senator tweeted Wednesday with a link to an article about Obama’s attire.

Mrs. Obama made headlines Tuesday when, during the first couple’s brief visit to Saudi Arabia to offer condolences following the death of King Abdullah, the first lady did not wear the traditional headscarf.
