Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) couldn’t be in South Carolina to attend Rand Paul’s multi-state “Stand with Rand” tour, but he issued a video announcement to encourage his constituents to welcome and support the senator’s presidential campaign.

“As many of you know Rand and I have been friends since both of us got to Washington in 2010 – and I could not be more excited not only that he’s running for president, but that he is here to make this announcement today,” said Mulvaney.

Mulvaney also said he was excited to hear that Paul will be working with South Carolina state Sen. Tom Davis, also one of Mulvaney’s good friends.

“Rand is going to be a tremendous candidate for president and I think he’d make a tremendous president,” said Mulvaney.
