Two TSA Agents Fired for Groping Scheme Allegation

A male/female couple working as TSA employees allegedly used their knowledge of the screening system at Denver International Airport to allow the man to grope attractive male passengers’ genitals, according to a CBS4 investigation.

Reportedly, the male TSA employee, turned on by a good-looking male passenger, would signal his female partner, who would press the button used for scanning females. When the passenger would pass through the scanner, his genitals would set it off, thus necessitating a pat-down, which the male TSA employee would execute by using his palms to grope the passenger’s genitals and buttocks.

After another TSA employee anonymously notified TSA in November, TSA took three months before the agency investigated. Security supervisor Chris Higgins finally observed the culprits on February 9. Denver police got involved in March. Once confronted, the female screener said she had executed the pair’s protocol at least ten times, CBS4 reported. The incident Higgins observed involved a passenger on Southwest Airlines.

Denver International is one of 160 American airports that uses Advanced Imaging Technology for screening. The millimeter wave scanner scans for any deviations from how a person should appear, and when there is an anomaly, a monitor shows it, highlighted by a yellow box.

TSA released a statement saying, “These alleged acts are egregious and intolerable. TSA has removed the two officers from the agency. All allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated by the agency. And when substantiated, employees are held accountable.”

TSA would not reveal the alleged perpetrators’ names and would not be interviewed by CBS4.
