Carly Fiorina Tells Iowans: ‘I’m Going to Officially Throw My Hat in The Ring’

AMES, Iowa — Inside a local pizza parlor Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett Packard CEO, told voters she is running for president.

“In less than a couple weeks from now, I’m going to officially throw my hat in the ring,” she said.

Fiorina said she remembers what her mother said to her in Sunday school: “What you are is Gods gift to you, what you make of yourself is your gift to God.” Those words have guided her throughout her career as a leader.

Fiorina believes there is potential in every single human and she wants to use an individual’s potential to “disentangle webs of dependence” that overzealous government power has created.

“Every one of us is gifted by God, every one of us has potential,” Fiorina said.

She added that leadership should unlock the potential in all.

“I want to talk to Iowans and talk to the American people about why we need something different. I bring to this race a totally different experience,” Fiorina added.

Fiorina acted as CEO of Hewlett Packard from 1999 to 2005 and said that experience makes her an expert in executive decision-making.

She then took a moment to address President Obama’s leadership, or lack thereof.

Fiorina mockingly said, “No Mr. President – it is not true the crusades and ISIS are equivalent!”

She also said the world is a dangerous place when we lead from behind as Obama has stated in regards to his foreign policy mantra.

Fiorina stated America must rebuild the sixth fleet to defend NATO, conduct military exercises in Baltic States, arm the Ukrainians and reinstate the missile defense system in Poland.

She believes it is time for America to help its allies and start leading.
