New Jersey Gov. and White House aspirant Chris Christie’s wife Mary Pat Christie has resigned from her position as managing director of NY investment firm Angelo, Gordon & Co., presumably due to her husband’s likely run for the 2016 GOP nomination.

A Hill report confirmed the news, following up on a Fox Business Network report.

…A source familiar with the situation confirmed Friday to The Hill.

Fox Business Network was the first to report the news that she had resigned her position as a managing director at the firm Angelo, Gordon & Co.

“Mrs. Christie has decided to take a hiatus from her work in the finance world to spend more time with her family and young children,” a Christie spokesman said in a statement to Bloomberg.

Gov. Christie has yet to officially announce a run in 2016.
