White House: People Complain About What The President Says All The Time

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest continued to defend the president’s use of the word “thug” to describe the rioters and looters in Baltimore.

“The president did use some tough language,” Earnest admitted, but pointed out that he was only trying to differentiate between the violent actions in Baltimore and the peaceful protestors.

Obama used the word “thug,” Earnest explained, to make his point “forcefully,” “directly” and “clearly.”

Earnest admitted that some people found Obama’s choice of words offensive, but he didn’t indicate that there were any plans to apologize.

“There have been some people – frankly on a variety of sides of this issue – who’ve complained about what the president says, but people complain about what the president says all the time, for a variety of reasons,” Earnest said.
