Terre Haute man accused of knowingly spreading HIV appears in court for the first time. The investigation leading up to 31-year-old Isiah Benford’s arrest was extensive and the case is complex.
Isiah Benford was charged on Monday morning on sixteen different counts, after an investigation that lasted more than year, and looked at accusations that spanned for more than a decade.
“They [the accusers] lied, just like the detectives did.”
Benford has been linked to at least 11 partners, although only three have come forward. Despite the fact that Benford signed a “Duty to Warn” in 2011, the victims say he either never revealed his positive status.
