Two top Republicans say they saw the now-viral video of a Planned Parenthood medical director discussing the sale of aborted baby body parts weeks ago.

Rep. Tim Murphy, a member of both the House Pro-Life Caucus and chairman of the Energy and Commerce subcommittee, said Wednesday during a news conference that he had seen the video clip weeks before, according to Roll Call. Murphy reportedly put a halt to the interview in which he admitted having seen the video previously.

An excerpt from the interview is as follows:

CQ Roll Call: “So, what I wondered was, what’s happened in those few weeks? Why is it coming out now and not earlier?”

Murphy: “Um, I don’t know why. All I know is I saw it and he said he was going to post it eventually, so that’s all I know.”

Rep. Trent Franks, also a member of the Pro-Life Caucus and House Judiciary committee member, said he had seen the video as well about a month ago.

In response to questions about why the information wasn’t brought forward immediately, Franks said, “The hope was to have as much information as possible so that the authorities could be notified effectively before the media.”
