White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest deferred to Planned Parenthood when asked for a reaction on the explosive investigation detailing its practice of trafficking organs from aborted babies for medical research.

During the White House press briefing this afternoon, Earnest admitted that he had not seen the videos but had read news reports about the practice, citing Planned Parenthood’s statement that their policies were “entirely consistent” with the “strictest ethical guidelines.”

Earnest referred further questions about the investigation to Planned Parenthood and “ethicists” who defined these standards, as he did not have “intimate knowledge” of their practices.

“Planned Parenthood, I understand, has said that they they follow those ethical guidelines, in fact the highest of those ethical guidelines,” Earnest said.

Earnest was unable to say whether or not President Obama had seen the videos.
