On August 9, Norman, Oklahoma resident Kenny Childers told an alleged home invader he would let him go if he could get to the end of the driveway before Childers caught up with him. The invader fled, and Childers jumped on a four wheeler and chased him down before he reached the end of the driveway, then held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, after Childers and his wife had won money at Riverwind Casino. The alleged invader had seen them win and followed them home.

According to News Channel 4, Childers and his wife were in bed when the man allegedly burst into their bedroom and said, “I seen you win that money.  There’s more money, where’s it at?” The man was allegedly armed with a knife and said he was going to kill them if they did not hand over the winnings.

Childers handed over the money, and the man responded by demanding the keys to Mrs. Childers’ pickup truck. Childers tossed the keys and the man fled the house.

Childers grabbed a lever-action rifle and chased the man down, but once he had him cornered he remembered the gun was not loaded. So he told the man to take off running, and said he would let him go if he got to the end of the driveway before Childers caught him again.

In the interim, Childers grabbed ammo, loaded the rifle, and jumped on his four wheeler. He caught the alleged home invader before he reached the end of the driveway and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.
