A Detroit man was shot in the chest August 28 after a neighbor caught him allegedly exposing himself to children.

The outbreak of sexual diversity occurred “just before 8 p.m. Friday in the 15000 block of Chatham St. on Detroit’s West Side,” according to WXYZ Detroit.  A woman who said her name was India said she was away from her house when a neighbor called to say a man in her front yard was exposing himself to children. The man in question turned out to be India’s brother.

“All I know is he [allegedly] pulled down his pants in front of my niece and my nephews and he was letting the kids touch his butt,” India said.

India and her fiance rushed home and confronted her brother, who said “he was just playing around” and he was sorry. The confrontation got heated, with India’s fiance eventually pulling a gun and shooting the brother in the chest.

She said her fiance went to Detroit police after the incident to explain what had happened, and is awaiting any charges that may follow.

The brother who allegedly exposed himself is in a hospital recovering from his gunshot wound, and he too awaits any charges that may follow.
