Obama Buys All the Cinnamon Rolls Before Survivalist Glacier Hike

Obama shops pastries

President Obama is hiking the Exit Glacier in Alaska this afternoon, but before his trip with reality show survivalist Bear Grylls, he stopped at a local cafe to buy some pastries.

“How’s everybody doing?” he asked the crowd as he entered the Snow City Cafe. “I’m about to go to a glacier. What do you guys recommend?” According to the White House pool report, the cafe is owned by the Democratic mayor of Anchorage, Alaska.

While gazing at the plethora of goodies in the display case, Obama bowed to examine them more closely.

“One of those cinnamon rolls,” he said, pointing at the dessert. “How many of them have you got? I’m gonna take all of those.”

As he continued looking at the pastries, he decided to go further.

“Why don’t we sample some of that walnut bread and muffins?” he asked. “Put a little sampler together. I’m gonna start shaking some hands.”

Obama was wearing a pair of hiking shoes, black pants, and an Under Armour jacket as he made the rounds in the local cafe.

After his visit, he traveled to the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, where he will fly to the Seward, Alaska area to hike the glacier.
