During a White House ceremony recognizing Duke’s NCAA Basketball Championship, Coach Mike Krzyzewski called Barack Obama an amazing leader for the United States.

After Krzyzewski took the podium, he said it was a great honor to visit Washington, D.C., and appear at the White House with the president.

“On behalf of our Duke community, we want to thank you for serving our country over these last two terms,” he said to Obama. “You’ve been an amazing leader for our country, and it’s not just you but your family and the sacrifices, so thank you very much for your service.”

As the audience applauded, Krzyzewski motioned for them to rise up and give the president a standing ovation.

The team gave Obama an autographed basketball and a team jersey.

“That’s a good looking basketball, thanks so much,” Obama replied before posing for a photo with the team.
