Mike Huckabee Scoffs at Hillary Clinton’s ‘Sudden Opposition’ to Keystone XL Pipeline

GOP presidential candidate Gov. Mike Huckabee took a swing at Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton for her campaign-trail opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline that she once seemed to support.

“Buried amidst the Pope Francis fanfare, Hillary Clinton’s sudden opposition to the Keystone Pipeline makes clear she’s running scared from Bernie Sanders,” Mike Huckabee charged in a press release.

“In America, we should never allow socialists the power to determine our destiny or destroy our economy,” Huckabee added. “America’s workers shouldn’t get punched in the gut with another left-wing, job-killing mandate simply because Bernie Sanders is running circles around Hillary Clinton.”

Clinton recently announced her opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline but was running the State Department during the time TransCanada, the Canadian oil company, applied for its first permit.

In October 2010, Clinton said she was “inclined” to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, according to the environmental group Friends of the Earth, who applauded Clinton’s flip-flop.
