Chris Christie: Putin Has Pushed Obama Around For Seven Years

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said President Barack Obama is being completely outmaneuvered by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin “has been pushing around the President of the United States for the last seven years,” Christie said during a town hall in Iowa yesterday.

“If you sat and watched Vladimir Putin [on the 60 Minutes TV show] last night, what you realized is that we are dealing with a smart, articulate thug,” Christie said. “That’s a tough combination.”

Putin, Christie explained, was clearly enjoying an unprecedented level of influence. “[H]e’s feeling good about himself right now,” Christie said. “And why wouldn’t he?”

Christie also ridiculed Obama’s United Nation’s speech, criticizing him for focusing more on climate than terrorism.

“I have not seen such a collection of meaningless platitudes,” Christie said. “A guy who doesn’t understand that the world is literally on fire because of his inaction: Libya is on fire, Syria is on fire, Iraq’s on fire, Egypt’s under martial law, Israel’s threatened like never before and Iran’s moving towards a nuclear weapon. All on this President’s watch and he gives a speech today where he spends more time on climate change than he spends on the global terrorist threat to America and the other free nations around the world.”

Obama owes former GOP 2012 candidate Mitt Romney an apology, after making fun of the Massachusetts governor during a presidential debate for calling Russia the biggest geopolitical threat, Christie added.
