Obama’s ‘Cool Clock’ Muslim Boy Gets Award From Jihad-Tied CAIR

The jihad-linked CAIR advocacy group has declared the Texas “cool clock” boy, Ahmed Mohamed, as the “American Muslim of the Year.”

The political award bypassed accomplished Muslims in America — and was also protested by other Muslims — but it did highlight the incendiary claim by the Council on American–Islamic Relations to its overseas supporters that Muslims in America are threatened, and must be aided by overseas Muslims.

The award by the CAIR group — which a judge has concluded is tied to the Jew-hating HAMAS jihad group — is an embarrassment to President Barack Obama, who has invited the boy to the White House for an Oct. 19 science event.

The award also came four days after the boy hugged Sudan’s Islamic, theocratic and genocidal dictator, who has been charged with war-crimes. The boy was escorted to the dictator by his Sudan-born father, who is trying to promote himself in Sudanese politics.

The 14-year-old boy got CAIR’s award Oct. 17 after repeatedly portraying Texas cops and teachers as racists and as unfair to Muslims. The boy became famous worldwide once Islamist progressives and many Democrats — including Obama — praised him when cops in Irving, Texas, questioned him Sept. 14 about his clock-in-a-box. The cops and his teachers thought his crude, useless and dangerous clock-in-a-box might be a hoax-bomb.

On Sept. 17, Mohamed told an interviewer on the Al Jazeera network that he was detained “because I’m Muslim.” “There is a lot of stereotypes [sic] for people who are foreigners and [when] they have Muslim names… names mainly in Islam… no this would not have happened to any of my classmates,” the youth said. Irving officials “should apologize,” CAIR’s prizewinner declared to the Arab world, via the widely-viewed overseas cable-TV network.

However, CAIR’s political award was decried by Muslims in America who are aware of more accomplished Muslims living in America.

“AAmaad Shk” posted a Facebook comment, saying “Ok Love the kid, love his confidence. But he’s still a kid who has a long way to go… Like giving Nobel to Obama, this is a strange CAIR decision that cheapens the award.”

Facebook user Sarah Khan wrote;

I stood with Ahmed when the events occurred, but enough now. First thing came to my mind with this award was ‘oh another Caitlyn Jenner ESPN type thing.’ Don’t know who decides this award and on what basis, but stop milking it. There are so many more out there more deserving and worthy of this award.

Among the Muslims ignored by CAIR’s effort to portray United States as bigoted were comedians Dave Chapelle and Aasif Mandvi, rappers Akon and T-pain, and media personality Fareed Zakaria.

Nawal Adous said on Facebook that;

It’s kind of like how Caitlyn Jenner won the ESPN Courage award. A lot of people thought there were many more deserving people who’ve pushed themselves to the limit for a long time. Idk.” She followed up with another post, saying “I love the kid…but this is by all means a TRAVESTY!”

CAIR also ignored Aziz Sancar, an American from Muslim-majority Turkey, who won a Nobel Prize for Science. He won the prize Oct. 7, giving CAIR plenty of time to notify Sancar, who doubled the number of Muslim-born people to have won a science Nobel prize.   That’s the same number of science Nobels won by Irish people. Israel has won six science Nobels, although Jews have won more than 200 science awards. 

Maryam Mohammed also posted a comment about the award to the boy, saying “The excruciating pain I go through every day running and circuit train, in order to get through the police academy, to be the first hijabi police officer in Tennessee is way more worthy, but thats just me.”

Tefa Sarama wrote on CAIR’s Facebook page;

Umm maybe for the month or for the week? But Muslim of the year? Seems a little overboard. How about Linda Sarsour who is an activist who promotes diversity and peace for Muslims and Americans? She deserves this way more. I can name ten people that deserve this more, not saying he doesn’t deserve an award, just not this one. It’s not suitable.

A Facebook user named Sara Moussa said;

It really angers me to see other muslims say he wasnt deserving of the reward and that there were others who are more deserving of it. Although that may be true, this is the best maybe even only recognition CAIR has given to an american muslim. Can we just accept and embrace that? Why is that so difficult? Yea sure there are others who maybe deserved it more but oh guess what, they didnt get it. Just take what ur given until u get what u want. Ur reactions below only show that were not satisfied with anything, its a damn step forward so suck it up and say alhamdul’lillah

The CAIR group is so closely entwined with Islamists and with jihadis that court documents and news reports show that at least five of its people — either board members, employees or former employees — have been jailed or repatriated to the United States for various financial and terror-related offenses.

The record highlighted by critics also shows that CAIR was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Texas-based criminal effort to deliver $12 million funds for the Jew-hating HAMAS jihad group, that it was founded with $490,000 from HAMAS, and that the FBI bans top-level meetings with CAIR officials.  

“The FBI policy restricting a formal relationship with CAIR remains … [but] does not preclude communication regarding investigative activity or allegations of civil rights violations,” said an email from FBI spokesman Christopher Allen.

In 2009, a federal judge concluded that “the government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR… with Hamas.”       

CAIR downplays the evidence of ties to HAMAS. 

Dean Obeidallah, a comedian and columnist for The Daily Beast, headlined the CAIR event. When asked by Breitbart News to comment on the award, he declined to respond. 

The youth’s clock apparatus, which he claim to be an “invention,” was actually extracted from a commercial clock and then stuffed into a metal-looking school box. The clock’s face could not been seen when the case was closed. If the case was opened, the dismantled clock’s unshielded 110-volt transformer was hazardous to people who put their hands inside the clock-box.

The boy brought his clock to school; a teacher told him to not to display it, but when he showed it to another teacher, that teacher called the police. The boy admitted later that that the clock-in-a-box would raise suspicions. “I didn’t want to lock it [closed] to make it seem like a threat, so I used a simple cable [around the box] so it won’t look that much suspicious,” he said on video.

The local police in Irving are also on alert for jihad attacks. The youth brought the apparent hoax-bomb to school just four months after two Muslims tried to machine-gun an art exhibition in nearby Garland, Texas. The two Muslim gunmen were successfully killed by guards, who were hired in the correct expectation that Islamic tenets would prompt a few Muslims to attack the guests at the exhibition.

When the youth did travel up to New York, he left his crude clock-in-a-box with the police department in Irving rather than show his embarrassingly simple device to his allies. He also did not take the clock-in-a-box with him when he flew in late October to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the Sudan.

The boy’s America-smearing tour was greatly aided by Obama, who tweeted out his support for the boy on Sept. 16.

In 2009, at a speech in Cairo attended by the Muslim Brotherhood group — the parent organization of HAMAS — Obama told his Egyptian audience that “I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”
