Al Gore Does Not Endorse Hillary Clinton

Former Clinton administration vice president Al Gore said that he is not endorsing Hillary Clinton for president…yet.

“It’s still too early, in my opinion, to endorse a candidate or pick a candidate,” Gore told People Magazine in advance of a climate change telethon that he’s hosting.

“Everybody can look at how the presidential campaign is developing and get some pretty clear ideas about how they think it’s going to turn out, but I still think it’s premature,” Gore told the magazine. “The election is still a full year away. I think I’ll wait to wade into it.”

Gore was well known for butting heads with Hillary Clinton in the White House, bristling at the close adviser role that Hillary served for her husband and always feeling like a political outsider. Sen. Bernie Sanders may be the more progressive choice for Gore.
