On November 11, a male driver, who was allegedly under assault by two men in a “road rage incident,” pulled his gun and fatally wounded one of the men before subduing the second.

The incident occurred in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said, “detectives have determined that [24-year-old] Richard Fawbush and [24-year-old] Jack Vawter got into a roadway disagreement with [34-year-old] Jesse Campbell, followed Campbell to his home and attempted to assault him in his driveway.” During the alleged attempted assault, Campbell shot Fawbush in the chest.

Campbell told “investigators he shot Fawbush when Fawbush attempted to assault him with a homemade weapon.”

Police said they arrived on scene to find all three men were still present. CBS 46 reports that Fawbush was taken to the hospital and later died from his wound.

Campbell and Vawter were taken to police headquarters for questioning, then “Vawter was charged with aggravated assault and was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.”

Police are treating the shooting as self-defense, and no charges have been filed against Campbell.
