Huckabee Sued for Playing ‘Eye of the Tiger’ at Kim Davis Rally

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is being sued by the band Survivor for using their 1982 song “Eye of the Tiger” at an event in support of Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, TMZ reports.

A suit filed in Illinois federal court on Wednesday by Rude Music Inc., which is owned by Survivor guitarist Frank M. Sullivan III, alleges the former Arkansas governor violated copyright law by playing the song when he escorted Davis from the Carter County Detention Center in September.

David was arrested after she refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, citing religious beliefs, following a United States Supreme Court ruling this summer legalizing same-sex marriage.

Huckabee said that Davis was imprisoned because of judicial tyranny and an overreach of one governmental branch ignoring the checks and balances established in the Constitution.

Sullivan III and Rude Music Inc. are seeking an undisclosed sum of money for damages.
