A Mississippi man was arrested and accused with attacking his parents, stabbing one and killing the other, because they brought home fast food but didn’t get him any, authorities say.

Jefferson Parish, New Orleans police spokesman John Fortunato says 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett of Mississippi was charged with second-degree murder for stabbing his father to death and for attempted second-degree murder for attacking his mother. He is also charged with auto theft.

Pritchett was arrested by the Lamar County Sheriff’s office at the home of relatives in Purvis, Mississippi and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

New Orleans spokesman Fortunato said that Pritchett killed his father, 58-year-old Percival Pritchett and attacked his mother, 57-year-old Renitta Pritchett, on the day before Thanksgiving at their home in Gretna, Louisiana, an unincorporated area across the Mississippi river from New Orleans.

The suspect’s mother was sent home after treatment.
