On December 4, Breitbart News spoke with Taya Kyle—wife of late Navy SEAL and American hero Chris Kyle—about the American Sniper Shootout, which will be held Saturday in Mason, Texas.

The shootout is being held in conjunction with Tracking Point Precision-Fire Weapons, with the goal of raising money for the Chris Kyle Foundation (CKF). Taya said CKF then uses that money “to help the marriages of first responders and military couples.”

She expounded:

The foundation is a year old at this point. And we’ve done revitalization retreats for couples—and that is both community first responders and military. Also, we’ve been very blessed to get some nice donations at the beginning and didn’t just want to just sit on the money while we were developing our programs, so we gave birthday grants this last year to some small organizations who are very transparent and give a lot to veterans; so we helped them stay afloat.

In addition to the goal of raising money that can be used to help families of first responders and our military, Taya said she hopes the shootout will open eyes to the kind of technology that is available and can give those on the front line the advantages they need, tactically speaking.

Taya said:

I have an end goal in mind, and that’s to get the technology advances for our first responders and our military members. And if we can do that, I will feel like we’ve really helped people.

The American Sniper Shootout will feature Taya, using a Tracking Point Precision-Fire Weapon, trying to outshoot NRA World Champion shooter Bruce Piatt. The event will also feature performances by country music artist Easton Corbin as well as Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel.
