On Tuesday’s Breitbart News Daily (6AM to 9AM EST on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125), author, scholar, and historian Victor Davis Hanson said President Barack Obama helped ISIS recruit more terrorists on Sunday evening because his Oval Office address sent a message around the world that America may be Islamophobic.
Hanson told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that though FBI statistics show that Jewish people are the greatest target of hate crimes, Obama “spent over half his speech warning us that we are liable [to commit] hate crime against Muslim-Americans.”
Hanson said that “one or two Muslim-Americans at most have been killed in hate crimes since 9/11 and the president basically told us that’s the greatest threat facing the United States.” He said the “irony is” Obama is giving ISIS “the message that they want” because “he’s telling ISIS that the American people are Islamophobic… and then ISIS is re-channeling that and saying, ‘see, even the President of the United States says people don’t like you in the United States; therefore, you better join us.”
“He’s fulfilling his own prophecy,” Hanson said.
Regarding the war against ISIS, Hanson said he would “step up the sorties by tenfold,” enlist allies like Egypt and Jordan in the fight and not let 75% of bombers come back without having dropped bombs. He called for a “Balkans-like” bombing campaign in which thousands more targets are hit.
But he said the problem is that ultimately “nobody is going to join us” in the fight because it was clear from Obama’s Sunday Oval Office address that “this guy doesn’t want to be here. He’d rather be picking the Final Four, he’d rather be going down to Rancho Mirage golfing.”
“He does not want to do this,” Hanson said. “He just doesn’t want to do it.”
