Rupert Murdoch Defends Trump: ‘Complete Refugee Pause’ Makes Sense

On Tuesday, none other than Rupert Murdoch defended Donald Trump, tweeting that a “complete refugee pause” in order to fix the vetting problem “makes sense.”

Murdoch sent his Tweet a day after GOP frontrunner Donald Trump called for a moratorium on Muslims entering the United States.

“Has Trump gone too far?” Murdoch Tweeted. “Regardless, public is obsessed on radical Muslim dangers, Complete refugee pause to fix vetting makes sense.”

Murdoch has been one of the most prominent supporters of comprehensive amnesty legislation, writing in 2014 after a meeting with President Barack Obama’s confidante and top adviser Valerie Jarrett that amnesty for illegal immigrants and an unlimited number of high-tech visas for corporations to displace U.S. workers “can’t wait.” Though studies by organizations on the left and right have proven that there is actually a surplus—not a shortage—of American high-tech workers, Murdoch has ramped up his lobbying for an unlimited number of high-tech visas.

The media mogul even admitted that his “heart sank” when pro-amnesty former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) lost his 2014 primary to Dave Brat because of the amnesty issue, ignominiously becoming the first sitting Majority Leader in history to lose a primary and torpedoing any chance that Congress would pass a comprehensive amnesty bill.

During this election cycle, Murdoch has been critical of Trump, especially his stance against illegal immigration.

As Breitbart Texas thoroughly documented, after Trump denounced illegal immigrant criminals during his announcement speech, Murdoch “pushed two debunked arguments defending the claim that illegal immigrants have lower crime rates than native-born citizens of the United States.” Earlier in the election cycle, Murdoch also wondered on aloud twitter when Trump was “going to stop embarrassing his friends, let alone the whole country.”

Strong majorities of Americans in numerous national polls, which were conducted before the San Bernardino terrorist attacks, have opposed allowing more Muslim refugees into the United States. San Bernardino terrorist Tashfeen Malik entered the United States on a K-1 fiancé visa and investigators are reportedly looking into whether she was a terrorist “operative.”

In addition, at least one of the Paris terrorists entered France as a “refugee” and House Homeland Security Chair Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX) revealed this week that ISIS has tried to use the Syrian refugee program to sneak terrorists into the United States.

The Obama administration has vowed to resettle at least 10,000 Syrian refugees in the United States over the next year.
