GOP presidential candidates former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum shared their family Christmas traditions with Breitbart News.

“We typically go to our church and have Christmas Eve service…then after that we go eat Chinese food,” Huckabee says.

My dad loved Chinese food. And after he died the first year he wasn’t going to be with us at Christmas, we were kind of sad to do our normal thing, which was to go to my parents’ house and have Christmas with them. And since we weren’t going to do that, we said what can we do that will kind of take our minds off the empty chair, but at the same time kind of honor him? He loved Chinese food, so that’s what we did and we’ve been doing that for twenty years now.

Santorum said his family decorates their house. “We always get a fresh tree, and we always decorate the house.”

“I mean that’s a big, big big deal,” he added.

We have a tradition…after Santa comes and delivers the presents, I arrange them all and get them all ready for everybody so everybody has their little station because we have seven kids, so we have to put everybodys in little piles so everybody knows where their presents are.

Santorum continued, “We have this tradition that everybody has to take their turn, and it’s Christmas morning, it’s like – everybody wants to [rip open gifts], [but] not us, we’re very orderly. That way everybody gets to see everybody open their presents.”

“In a big family, kids can get lost some times and so you make every gift a special gift,” Santorum concluded.
