Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) says none of the other presidential candidates, “understands immigration better than I do.”

“Both of my parents were immigrants,” Rubio said. He added that he grew up in a community filled with immigrants and that his neighbors were immigrants.

According to Politico he said:

“And I can tell you as the son of immigrants, raised and living in a community of immigrants, enforcing our immigration laws is not anti-immigrant,” he said, alongside South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, who on Tuesday announced he would be supporting the Florida senator in his state’s primary.

Rubio was a supporter of the Obama backed Gang of Eight immigration bill. As, Breitbart News has previously reported, Rubio worked with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to get the bill passed which would have led to amnesty for million.

The Schumer-Rubio immigration bill would have granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, it would have doubled the annual admission of temporary foreign workers, and it would have dispensed 30 million green cards to foreign nationals in the span of just one decade, despite current record immigration levels.

According to the latest Quinnipiac poll on the Republican presidential race, Rubio is in third place with 12 percent of supoort. Donald Trump leads with 28 percent, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
