Hillary Clinton, Abortion Industry Play Defense While Pro-Life Women Affirm ‘Abortion the Ultimate Exploitation of Women’

In New Hampshire, Democrat presidential contender Hillary Clinton defended the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision Friday on its 43rd anniversary, along with supporters Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America, which championed her call to end the Hyde Amendment and allow taxpayer funding for abortion on demand.

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., president of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) Marjorie Dannenfelser tells Breitbart News the March for Life 2016 theme – “Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand-in-Hand” – is the message of Alice Paul, original author of the Equal Rights Amendment and organizer of the first Suffragette parade in Washington, D.C. in 1913.

“This promise of freedom and liberation that feminists promised so many decades ago turned out to be a horrific crime against women,” Dannenfelser said. “Women are great advocates for life because we have a natural ability to bring new birth, bring new kids into the world and have a unique role in communicating that.”

“This is the big year, and it begins, of course, with the presidential race which will be defined in many ways by the abortion issue in ways that it has not before,” she explained, “mainly because our guys and Carly Fiorina have been very much on the offense, where Democrats have been very much on the defense.”

Dannenfelser continued:

I really see the center not holding in the abortion rights movement right now, and I’m talking about Hillary’s comments lately, Nancy Pelosi’s comments, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s comments lately, that produce all sorts of infighting among that movement. Legislatively, I think we’ll see some really strong opportunities to communicate and educate. But, we know, that no matter what we do, this current president will put an end to any great pro-life work. So, it will be our job to get in the battleground states, door-to-door, communicating what’s at stake, why we need a new president to pass into law – what this president has decided he doesn’t have the moral courage to do.

The “infighting” among the longstanding feminist abortion advocates could be seen over the past week leading up to the Roe v. Wade anniversary, with Clinton and the abortion industry groups that have supported her playing defense to Democrat rival Bernie Sanders’ statement that Planned Parenthood and the militant LGBT agenda organization Human Rights Campaign are simply “establishment” groups propping up an establishment candidate.

Additionally, NARAL recently rebuked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi for her statement during an interview that she is not actually a supporter of “abortion on demand.”

In her address to the abortion industry groups in New Hampshire Friday, Clinton continued her defensive stance:

[W]e all need a champion in the White House. And not just someone who says the right things, but someone who does them as well. Who will stand up to each and every attack. And who will do everything she can. We need somebody in the Oval Office who really understands that NARAL and Planned Parenthood are not part of the ‘establishment.’

Senior policy adviser for The Catholic Association (TCA) Maureen Ferguson tells Breitbart News the March for Life 2016 theme of linking pro-life and pro-woman  is “very well-timed.”

“The other side, of course, likes to use this issue as a political football and call out the supposed ‘war on women,’” she says. “Women have really been settling for an inauthentic kind of quality if we’re settling for abortion as a means to our advancement.”[

“We are the bearers of the next generation, and we ought to command great awe and respect for our life-giving powers,” Ferguson adds, “and society ought to conform to our ability to bear children, rather than force us to wound ourselves through abortion and suffer the loss of our children.”

Senior fellow with TCA Ashley McGuire also tells Breitbart News the theme that “pro-life is pro-woman” is an essential message.

“First, it’s completely true, if you look back at the Suffragettes, they were very pro-life, and that’s important because the type of feminism and pro-woman mentality that’s driven so many other social justice movements is the very same one that’s behind this,” McGuire said. “It’s important for us to make it clear that abortion is not just a violation of the human rights of an unborn child, but it is also a violent assault on a woman’s body as well. Society needs to understand the harm abortion has done to women.”
