Local NBC affiliate owner Armstrong Williams will provide opening and closing remarks for a Flint, Michigan town hall tonight regarding the city’s ongoing water crisis.
Concerns over water contamination from lead pipes has thousands of Flint residents and businesses using bottled water for daily activities like drinking, cooking, and taking showers. The water crisis has long-term consequences for the health and economic future of the City of Flint.
In a live town hall meeting, a panel of experts will answer questions from the public on what’s being done to provide safe drinking water, who is being held accountable for the decisions that lead to the water crisis, and measures local, state, and federal officials are taking to prevent future problems.
