Dozens of protesters, opposing GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s planned campaign rally in Janesville, Wisconsin on Tuesday, entered a Holiday Inn Express in Janesville on Monday evening to protest Trump’s visit.

Several protesters entered the hotel, but they eventually went back outside. The hotel refused to allow anyone in except guests, according to The Gazette.

State Assembly Democrat representative from Madison, Melissa Sargent, joined the protesters.

“We’re here to keep hate out of our state,” Sargent stated.

The Gazette reports that the protest on Monday was a “last-ditch effort” to get the Holiday Inn to cancel Trump’s event on Tuesday.

“The hotel’s owners on Tuesday afternoon issued a statement saying they would not cancel,” The Gazette notes.

Deputy Chief John Olsen said the police are on notice and will monitor the situation.
