A spokesperson for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan tells Breitbart News that a recent report that Ryan is ready to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump isn’t credible.
“There’s no update and we’ve not told the Trump campaign to expect an endorsement,” a Ryan spokesperson told Breitbart News on Wednesday morning.
The statement comes after Bloomberg reported late Tuesday night that Ryan wants to end his divide with the presumptive Republican nominee.
“House Speaker Paul Ryan has begun telling confidants that he wants to end his standoff with Donald Trump in part because he’s worried the split has sharpened divisions in the Republican Party, according to two people close to the lawmaker,” Bloomberg reported.
Ryan aides say nothing has been decided about a possible Trump endorsement. But Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, told a small group of Republican lawmakers Thursday that he expects Ryan to endorse the party’s nominee as early as this week, according to two people in the meeting.
Politico’s Mike Allen also reported on Wednesday the same report as Bloomberg’s Billy House, writing that Ryan is “moving rapidly toward endorsing Donald Trump.”
“Sounds like the endorsement will be soon, but we’re told not today,” Allen wrote. “After Ryan’s endorsement, Trump forces will declare the party unified.”

ABC News also reported Ryan’s ready to endorse. The Speaker and presumptive nominee are scheduled in the upcoming weeks to hold another meeting and Trump will speak in June to the House Republican Conference, according to Politico.
Fox News reported Wednesday morning that Ryan sources are denying that he’s about to endorse Trump.
“I think Paul Ryan has put himself in a difficult position, I think, really of having to end up endorsing Donald Trump even though he has these reservations because he talks so much of unity,” Weekly Standard reporter Mike Warren analyzed on Fox News.
A Trump campaign source told Breitbart News that the Trump campaign has not pushed any stories out about this, and that reporters seem to be coming to this conclusion on their own based off of what was reported back when Trump and Ryan met. The Trump campaign expects that everything will be fine party-wide–including with Ryan–by the GOP convention in Cleveland in July, and that things are improving in the party rapidly.
