FBI: Over Two Times More People Beaten To Death Than Killed With Rifles

The FBI’s Uniform Crime Report for 2014 shows that more than twice as many people are beaten to death by fists and feet each year than are shot to death with rifles of every kind.

For example, in May, 71-year-old Ronald Antrican, above, was beaten to death in his own home, in Dayton, Ohio.

According to the FBI, the total number of persons murdered with a rifle in 2014 was approximately 251.

The number murdered with “hands, fists, feet, etc” was approximately 670. That means more than twice as many people were beat to death than were shot to death with a rifle.

And the important thing to remember is that the FBI category for rifles includes all kinds. So the number of murders that were carried out with only one type of rifle–an AR-15–would be much, much lower than 251.

Breitbart News previously reported that FBI crime figures revealed the number of murders by hammers and clubs consistently exceeds the number of murders by rifle. In 2005 the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618. In 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.
