Christina Grimmie’s Killer Passed Background Check, 5-Day Waiting Period

The police report on the investigation into the death of former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie reveals that her killer passed a background check for his guns and did not pick them up until after completing a required five-day waiting period.

Breitbart News reported that Grimmie was hosting an after-concert autograph signing session when she was shot and killed. Her attacker took his own life after being tackled by Grimmie’s brother.

The alleged gunman, Kevin James Loibl, had two Glock 9 mm handguns on him the night Grimmie was killed. Orlando police confirmed that 27-year-old Loibl is the “suspect who shot Grimmie.”

According to CNN, the police who examined Loibl’s body “found two handgun magazines in his pocket, a tactical knife strapped to his ankle, a Florida driver’s license, a ticket for Grimmie’s show, which he’d printed five days prior and a hotel key for a room at the Courtyard by Marriott in Orlando.”

Loibl is only the latest in a long list of attackers and alleged attackers who passed background checks to acquire their guns. That list includes:
