Senator Bernie Sanders endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at an event in Portsmouth New Hampshire. For many Sanders supporters getting behind an establishment politician who embodies the cronyism and corruption their revolution was built to oppose is one place they’re not willing to follow Senator Sanders.

Black Men for Bernie founder Bruce Carter gave his reaction to Breitbart News in a short statement:

As a true supporter of people I am saddened by Senator Sanders decision. To have people calling crying and feeling robbed breaks my heart. His decision has led me to make sure that moving forward the people have their own white house that is not owned by an the establishment. The masses will not vote for the Democratic Party because they are untrustworthy.

When Sanders announced the endorsement from the stage, his supporters could be heard booing in the audience. The reaction from Bernie loyalists online was even less constrained.

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign issued a statement ahead of the Sanders endorsement of Hillary titled, “Top Five Reasons Sanders Supporters Will Never Be Excited About Hillary Clinton.”

1. SANDERS: CLINTON HAS BACKED “VIRTUALLY EVERY TRADE AGREEMENT THAT HAS COST THE WORKERS OF THIS COUNTRY MILLIONS OF JOBS”

2. SANDERS: CLINTON IS IN THE POCKET OF WALL STREET

3. SANDERS: HILLARY CLINTON = D.C. ESTABLISHMENT.

4. SANDERS: DEMOCRAT ESTABLISHMENT IMMIGRATION POLICIES WOULD DRIVE DOWN AMERICANS’ WAGES, CREATE OPEN BORDERS

5. SANDERS: CLINTON SUPPORTS NATION-BUILDING IN MIDDLE EAST THROUGH WAR AND INVASION

Senator Sanders continued to take subtle shots at Clinton even as he endorsed her. He brought up unelected super delegates which went overwhelmingly for Clinton and talked about besting Clinton in a number of contests, saying, “Our campaign won the primaries and caucuses in 22 states, and when the roll call at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia is announced it will show that we won almost 1,900 delegates. That is a lot of delegates, far more than almost anyone thought we could win. But it is not enough to win the nomination.”
