The Abortionist Who Doesn’t Know What an Abortionist Is

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “abortionist” is a term that means “one who induces abortions.”

According to Warren Hern, the Colorado doctor who aborts babies old enough to live outside the womb, the word “abortionist” is a “vicious, despicable anti-abortion propaganda term intended to slander the person to whom it is applied.” He thinks it’s “grotesque.”

To paraphrase Shakespeare, methinks Dr. Hern doth protest too much. For him to label the common name for his profession a “slander” raises several obvious questions, one of which is – if the term “abortionist” is “grotesque,” what about abortion itself?

In his recent open letter to Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, Chair of the House Select Committee investigating the abortion business, Dr. Hern issues several amazing statements that reflect the abortion industry’s unstable relationship with the English language and with reality itself. If one were to demonstrate how abortion proponents have attempted to create their own alternate universe, this letter, which Hern published as an advertisement in the Denver Post, could be Exhibit A.

For those who don’t know, let’s establish who Warren Hern is. He’s been killing babies for 43 years at his Boulder, Colorado clinic. He is one of the founders of the National Abortion Federation. He wrote a textbook on abortion. He has invented surgical tools used in abortion. He’s one of the very few doctors who publicly acknowledges that he performs abortions at any stage of pregnancy.

But he says he’s not an abortionist.

Dr. Hern writes to Congresswoman Blackburn, “…you refer to ‘second and third trimester abortionists.’ What is a ‘second and third trimester abortionist?’ Please define these terms for me. Why do you address such a letter to me? I am a physician.”

So, we have a physician who performs second and third trimester abortions, but who doesn’t know what is meant by the phrase “second and third trimester abortionist.”

Well, even if Dr. Hern won’t admit who he is, we know what he does – because he has told us.

Dr. Hern wrote in his textbook Abortion Practice:

The procedure changes significantly at 21 weeks because the fetal tissues become much more cohesive and difficult to dismember. This problem is accentuated by the fact that the fetal pelvis may be as much as 5cm in width. The calvaria [head] is no longer the principal problem; it can be collapsed. Other structures, such as the pelvis, present more difficulty. A long curved Mayo scissors may be necessary to decapitate and dismember the fetus….

Does Dr. Hern think that abortion, especially a late-term abortion as described above, should be limited to “hard cases”? No. He stated in Abortion Practice, “Abortion is the indicated treatment of choice for pregnancy, unless pregnancy is desired for the purpose of reproduction. In this sense, the distinction between elective and therapeutic abortions is false; all abortions are therapeutic.”

And just so it’s clear that Dr. Hern knows exactly what he’s doing, consider that he wrote in a paper for the Association of Planned Parenthood Physicians: “We reach a point…where there is no possibility of denial of an act of destruction by the operator. It is before one’s eyes. The sensations of dismemberment flow through the forceps like an electric current….”

“The sensations of dismemberment….” Are those what a physician is supposed to feel?

In his letter to Rep. Blackburn, Dr. Hern states, “During the past century, we have had tragic experience with the tactics of totalitarian governments that begin their assertion of discriminatory power by first denying the legitimate identity and status of individuals for political purposes.”

Dr. Hern makes the statement because he’s offended that in Blackburn’s original letter to him, she doesn’t include “M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D.” after his name. He apparently thinks this omission (she does refer to him as “Dr. Hern”) is an attempt to deny his “legitimate identity and status… for political purposes.”

While the year is not yet over, abortionist Hern may have just clinched the award for Most Ironic Sentence of 2016.

The entire abortion industry is based on “denying the legitimate identity and status” of certain people – namely, unborn babies. From its inception, the abortion business has attempted to convince us that babies in the womb are not babies and that a human life does not begin at its beginning. Why? For political purposes. And money.

The abortion industry, through the work of people like Warren Hern, first denied unborn children their legitimate legal identity as human beings. After achieving their “political purposes,” abortionists then went forth with the killing of approximately 60 million Americans over a span of almost 44 years. And they raked in the cash.

Warren Hern can pretend all he wants. He is a second and third term abortionist. And all the linguistic finesses in the world cannot hide the fact that what he does is abhorrent, and that the vast majority of Americans agree.
