In the audio of a 911 call from Grady County, Oklahoma, an armed homeowner can be heard telling a suspected intruder to “get on the ground,” while the dispatcher can be heard asking the homeowner not to pull the trigger.

The dispatcher was asking the homeowner to refrain from shooting because deputies had arrived on scene and were about to enter the house.

According to KOCO, Grady County Sheriff Jim Weir said the suspect, 28-year-old Travis Thrash, “Kicked the front door of the residence and made it all the way it [sic] to the hallway to the bedroom.”  The homeowner — who is also a military veteran — then confronted the suspect, ordering him to the ground.

Weir said, “Thrash is lucky he didn’t get shot.”

After being apprehended, Thrash admitted to being on drugs, and he said he entered the house because he was “being chased by several people.”

Another resident in the neighborhood called 911 as well, claiming Thrash tried to enter their home before entering the one in which he was confronted and apprehended.
