Maxine Waters Has ‘Taken Off Gloves’ to Battle Trump: ‘We’re Going to Lock Him Up’

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is at again, this time saying she has “taken off the gloves” to fight President Donald Trump and vowing to “lock him up.”

On Saturday, Waters addressed the Essence Festival in New Orleans and urged the crowd to push for Trump’s impeachment.

“I have taken off the gloves,” Waters said. “I don’t honor him, I don’t respect him and I am not going to tolerate him. I am going to do everything I can do to get him impeached.”

Maxine “Get Ready for Impeachment” Waters has been one of the most vocal Trump antagonists on the left. She even suggested Trump should be exiled to Russia, though it is unclear whether she was actually serious.

At the Essence Festival, Waters said it was outrageous that Trump “stalked” Hillary Clinton and his supporters yelled “lock her up” on the stump in 2016.

“We’re going to lock him up,” Waters declared.

Waters then said that since “we have invested so much and since we have endured so much, we’ve got to provide the leadership to get rid of him.”

“We can do this, you all, but we’ve got to stand up. I want you to rally. I want you to tweet. I want you to go on Facebook. I want you to write to your elected officials. I want you to do everything, whether it’s in a church, or whether it’s in a meeting of any kind,” she said. “If you’re with the labor unions, etc., get busy. And keep going until we do what needs to be done.”

She then led the crowd in another “impeach 45” chant, like she has done at numerous rallies.
