President Donald Trump continues to press Senate Republicans on passing an Obamacare repeal and replace bill, despite growing disunity in the party over how to get it done.

Trump revealed on Twitter that he would have lunch with Senate Republicans to discuss the issue.

“I will be having lunch at the White House today with Republican Senators concerning healthcare,” he wrote. “They MUST keep their promise to America!”

Trump chided Republicans for failing to sell their bill, assuring the public that it was much better than Obamacare.

“The Republicans never discuss how good their healthcare bill is, & it will get even better at lunchtime,” he wrote. “The Dems scream death as OCare dies!”

The latest effort to pass a bill lost momentum after Sens. Mike Lee and Jerry Moran announced their opposition to the bill. Privately, other senators expressed misgivings over the bill despite their promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Trump signaled frustration with Senate Republicans Tuesday.

“I’m certainly disappointed. For seven years, I’ve been hearing repeal and replace from Congress. I’ve been hearing it loud and strong, and when we finally get a chance to repeal and replace, they don’t take advantage of it,” he told reporters at the White House.

Sen. Mitch McConnell has scheduled a “repeal only” Obamacare vote for early next week, despite protests from Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia and Susan Collins of Maine, who said they would not support the bill.
