VIDEO: Man Sneaks into Neighbor’s Attic, Peeks into Bedroom

A Pittsburgh homeowner captured surveillance footage of a man lurking in his attic at night and peering into a bedroom, according to a new video.

Homeowner Jerome Kennedy alleges that his neighbor, Robert Havrilla, 69, crawled into a vent in the attic and peeked into his bedroom at night, the New York Post reports.

Kennedy said he placed a security camera inside his home after he began hearing noises once his 10-month-old baby was born. He also discovered drill holes and flashlights appearing inside of his home, seemingly out-of-the-blue.

“It shows him removing a false wall that he engineered, climbing onto my ceiling, above my baby’s crib, and he lies on some planks that he put there, in my ceiling,” Kennedy told KDKA.

Once Kennedy saw the footage, he filed a police report alleging that Havrilla made his way into the attic without Kennedy’s permission.

The video shows the man allegedly peeking into a bedroom for 30 minutes, equipped with a drill and flashlight.

“It’s very disheartening to feel violated in this way that somebody can come in and disrupt the sanctity of my home,” Kennedy told KDKA.

When authorities questioned him, Havrilla denied that he trespassed to gain entry into Kennedy’s home, adding that he would not be able to access his neighbor’s attic without a ladder.

Police arrested Havrilla Thursday and charged him with burglary, stalking, and criminal trespassing. His next scheduled court appearance is October 3.

Another case of a stranger lurking in a homeowner’s attic made news in July when a Virginia woman who discovered strange noises coming from her attic allegedly found a homeless person living there.
