President Donald Trump praised United States special forces and law enforcement personnel after the successful capture of Mustafa al-Imam in Libya — an alleged plotter of the terrorist attack in Benghazi.

“Because of this successful operation, al-Imam will face justice in the United States for his alleged role in the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi,” Trump said, citing the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods in the attack.

White House officials plan to transfer al-Imam to the United States for prosecution.

Trump said he gave the orders for the mission against the terrorist and spoke directly to the families who lost their loved ones in the attack.

“To the families of these fallen heroes: I want you to know that your loved ones are not forgotten, and they will never be forgotten,” he said. “Our memory is deep and our reach is long.”
