WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Judicial Crisis Network launched a six-figure ad buy in Louisiana on Thursday to confirm Kyle Duncan to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as the centerpiece of the next stage of a nationwide conservative coalition effort to confirm President Donald Trump’s nominees to the federal courts.

The ad is running on television, radio, and digital print. In it, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry praises Duncan as someone who shares “Louisiana values” and who is “an expert in constitutional law,” citing Duncan’s work on major cases, including the Hobby Lobby victory for religious liberty over Obamacare at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Duncan served as solicitor general in Louisiana. He also worked as a law professor and legal scholar, and had a very impressive career as former general counsel at Becket Law, and currently as a partner in a private law firm.

“In Kyle Duncan, President Trump selected one of the best lawyers of his generation,” said Carrie Severino of the Judicial Crisis Network. “Kyle’s brilliance, combined with his humility and integrity, will serve him well on the Fifth Circuit.”

“Kyle is a distinguished public servant, an excellent lawyer, and a superb gentleman,” agreed GOP senior statesman Ken Blackwell. “President Trump has hit a home run by nominating such a principled constitutionalist for the federal appeals bench.”

“I’ve known Kyle for years—going back to my time in state government in Louisiana,” said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council and the Council for National Policy. “Apart from being well-qualified, I’m certain he’ll adhere to the Constitution.”

“Now that President Trump has done his part, it’s time for senators to do theirs—and send this nomination to a speedy confirmation,” Perkins concluded.

“We are so thankful to President Trump for nominating him and urge the Senate to confirm him without delay,” added Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.

The United States is divided into twelve geographical circuits. President Trump has nominated 14 lawyers thus far to fill vacancies on the federal appeals courts.

Duncan is one of four nominees to fill vacancies on the Fifth Circuit, which covers Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
