President Donald Trump expressed hope on Friday that Democrats will work with him on infrastructure spending in the United States.
“At some point, and for the good of the country, I predict we will start working with the Democrats in a Bipartisan fashion,” he wrote on Twitter. “Infrastructure would be a perfect place to start.”
The president and his economic advisers have previewed infrastructure spending in 2018 as members of both parties in Congress face the midterm re-election.
Despite some Republican resistance to more deficit spending, Trump has long expressed interest in rebuilding the country’s infrastructure.
“After having foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East, it is time to start rebuilding our country!” he wrote:

Trump also wrote that the Republican tax cuts were already fueling businesses in the United States after several companies announced Christmas bonuses in response to the news:
Our big and very popular Tax Cut and Reform Bill has taken on an unexpected new source of “love” – that is big companies and corporations showering their workers with bonuses. This is a phenomenon that nobody even thought of, and now it is the rage. Merry Christmas!
