President Donald Trump thanked CNN’s Jim Acosta, after he spotted the CNN report that his administration was celebrating a shutdown victory.
“Even Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN agrees,” Trump wrote, quoting part of the report. “Thank you for your honesty, Jim!”
“Now there is no denying the president and his allies are spiking the football after the shutdown,” Acosta reported on Monday evening. “‘Trump wins again’ is how one source described it to me. Another White House official crowed that the Democrats caved on the shutdown.”
Acosta reported that Trump would travel to Davos, Switzerland to the global economic summit after the shutdown.
“While the president will be tasting chocolate in Switzerland, Democrats will be licking their wounds in Washington,” he concluded.
