The Federal Bureau of Investigation has begun a probe into the matter.

When two young women in Phenix City, Alabama received unidentified packages from “Atur Bhuck of Santa Fe, NM,” they were found to contain signed letters and food. On April 29, Alabama school officials issued a warning to parents about the bizarre situation.

In an official Facebook post that seems to have since been removed, the Covington County District Attorney’s Office said, “Each order included the name of the girl and the address of the elementary school she attends,” and noted that “the same IP address has also appeared on websites discussing girls’ underwear and types of music to listen to when he visits his pen pal in Phenix City.”

In their letters, “Bhuck” claims to be 14 years old, mentally disabled, and bullied. He also asks the girls to respond, and offered two separate e-mail addresses for them to do so. The source of the IP address has been traced to the Houston area. Meanwhile, the FBI has said that similar incidents have occurred across Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia.
