Donald Trump: ‘Fake News’ Is Going ‘Bonkers’ Because of Great Success

President Donald Trump again challenged recent news reports featuring anonymous sources from the White House.

“The Fake News is going crazy making up false stories and using only unnamed sources (who don’t exist),” Trump wrote on Twitter on Monday night. “We are accomplishing the unthinkable and setting positive records while doing so! Fake News is going ‘bonkers!'”

The president was likely responding to an NBC News report featuring several anonymous sources who said that Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly had referred to the president as an idiot and said women were more emotional than men.

Trump signaled frustration with the media, suggesting the damaging reports were a result of his success as president.

“They are totally unhinged, and the great success of this Administration is making them do and say things that even they can’t believe they are saying,” he wrote. “Truly bad people!”

Trump dismissed special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation, calling it a “phony witch hunt.”

“There is great Energy and unending Stamina, both necessary to get things done,” he wrote:
