A group of seniors at a Wisconsin high school left such an impression with their senior prank that it prompted the local police department to hail it as “one of the best” the department has ever seen.

“Hats off to the Cumberland High School Class of 2018 on your senior prank. Congratulations Class of 2018 on one of best senior pranks that Cumberland High School has seen. Congratulations to all the seniors who are graduating,” the Cumberland Police Department wrote on Facebook Monday.

When students and staff arrived at Cumberland High School Monday morning, they discovered what appeared to be a car that crashed into the brick wall by the principal’s office, WESH reported.

Teachers discovered after taking a closer look that the “accident” was fake. Half of a car, likely obtained from a junkyard, had been placed in front of a black tarp to create the illusion that it smashed into the wall. The students added loose bricks to the scene for effect.

The seniors also wrote, “C-ya May 19, 2018!” and “CHS Class of 2018 We’re Bustin Out” on the car’s windows for some flair:

“Graduation week… Nice work seniors!” Cumberland High School said of the prank in a Facebook post. “You had everyone a little nervous this morning! The police department is saying this senior prank was ‘one of the best senior pranks that Cumberland High School has seen.'”

The police said it was a great prank because it did not cause damage to school property. Some of the students who took part in the prank even decided to use the prank to promote a cause.

Four students took a photo by the staged crash site holding a banner saying, “Parents who host lose the most,” to raise awareness about underage drinking.

The photo of the prank has gone viral on social media, even making its way to Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), who called Cumberland High’s senior prank “amazing”:
