Groups of women and children are showing up at the border in Laredo, Texas, and seeking out Border Patrol agents to turn themselves in. U.S. authorities are releasing them into Texas. The numbers and methods of the illegal entries are reminiscent of the beginnings of the 2014 border crisis, according to Border Patrol agent Hector Garza. Sen. Sessions; GOP Should Pick New House Speaker Before Voting On $8 Trillion Budget Plan

Sen Jeff Sessions is urging GOP legislators to pass a short-term budget that will create time for legislators and voters to look under the hood of Washington’s latest budget maneuver — the secretly negotiated, two-year $8 trillion budget plan. He also wants House legislators to pick their new House Speaker — likely Rep. Paul Ryan — before debating the two-year budget, which largely frees Obama from congressional pressure for the rest of his term.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) heads to the floor for a vote following a GOP conference meeting in the U.S. Capitol October 26, 2015 in Washington, DC. The White House and House Republicans may be nearing a two-year budget deal, according to published reports, that would avert a government shudown, increase defense spending by $80 billion and extend the debt limit to March 2017, clearing it away until after the 2016 elections.
