Singer Sophie B. Hawkins Attends Tea Party — Slams Hollywood, Obama For Not Doing Enough For Gulf

—–

Couple of songs mixed with celeb apostasy is always a pleasant way to start out a new week.

A Hillary supporter, before, after, and between songs, Sophie lashes out at Hollywood’s lack of response to the Gulf, President Obama’s breathtaking lack of leadership, voices her opposition to the war in Iraq, and talks about becoming a “former liberal” who now feels the sting of apostasy and the pressure to tow the pro-Obama line.

In an interview with my pal Bridget Johnson over at The Hill, the singer went even further. Good heavens, she attended a Tea Party! Here are some highlights. Be sure to read the whole thing:

Singer Sophie B. Hawkins told The Hill on Thursday that “America’s being thrown under the bus” by President Barack Obama as he presses forward with his agenda and comes under criticism for his response to the Gulf oil spill. ….

She describes herself as a centrist who’s identified with the Democratic and Green parties, but said even though she’s never been Republican she wouldn’t cross that vote off the list if the right leader came along.

In fact, she’s open to a Republican Congress. ….

Hawkins said she attended a Tea Party rally in Santa Monica, Calif., that was “mostly all Democrats.”

“The Tea Parties are only here because people are not listening,” she said.

What she sounds like is someone in the middle of a political awakening who’s especially tired of being told what to think by the elite media and even more elite celebrity class. Let’s hope she knows what’s she’s getting into. The leftist enforcers in the entertainment media should start questioning the Grammy-nominated singer’s talent and sanity any day now … because that’s what they do.

And when they do, Big Hollywood looks forward to responding.

Is it me or does Ms. Hawkins have that ridiculously appealing Catherine Keener vibe working for her? Mixed with that sexy willing-to-think-for-herself gene, I might just have to become a groupie.
