After watching this, the only message we walked away with was, “Gee, I wish someone would’ve spent more than ten minutes writing this thing.”
Actually, the problem with this Die isn’t really the writing, though it’s bad, the problem is that those performing it are pretty sure they’re adorable and nothing’s worse than someone in front of a camera who’s positive they’re cute. Cute is smug gone retard. Never a pretty sight.
Doug Powers sums the overall message up:
“Don’t just sit there, immigrants are about to be pulled from their cars, gays won’t be able to get married and nobody will have health care because stupid people are really motivated this year.”
One theory we’ve heard is that Hollywood’s so freaked about the upcoming tax hikes that this video is actually a genius piece of double-agent chicanery intentionally made insufferable in an attempt to disgust even more Republicans and independents (they’re on our side now) into the voting booth (which might also be the genius motivation behind Jon Stewart’s recent implosion). If that’s the case, mission accomplished and we here at Big Hollywood are doing our part for America (and the children) to help spread the word.
