Trailer-O-Rama; 'The Mechanic,' 'Cowboys and Aliens,' and More….

Good cast but what made the 1972 Bronson original so legendary appears to be missing in what looks to be a pretty typical Jason Statham genre pic. The methodical nature of watching Bronson’s “mechanic” ply his trade, the scene where he and his new apprentice (a never better Jan-Michael Vincent) test each other’s cold-bloodedness as a young woman bleeds out, and of course the existential nature of the entire last half. There was a sincere and quite intentional meanness to that story which fit the topic perfectly.

We’ll see what the remake holds in store on January 28th. Screen Rant has more.

If nothing else, Ed Zwick isn’t directing this, which means it might not suck.

The Way Back” lands in theatres January 21st.
