Stewart on Obama's Fallon Appearance: 'You Don't Have to Do This Anymore'

Jon Stewart isn’t laughing at President Barack Obama’s recent appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

Sure, you could chalk up Stewart’s disdain to professional jealousy. Hey, why didn’t President Late Night drop by the Comedy Central studio to do original shtick for our show?

Perhaps on an instinctual level Stewart realizes presidents should be above participating in talk show shtick. Stewart is an Obama apologist of the first order, but he’s also no dummy. And for the “Daily Show” host to mock Obama’s willingness to yuck it up for the elusive youth vote, it’s clear the bit didn’t work as intended.

“Mr. President you’re the president … you don’t have to do this [bleep] anymore.”
